I really liked The Making of Biblical Womanhood, even if I did feel like parts were a smidge limited? I have preordered her new book though! I have Men Who Hate Women on hold at the library and I also hated Sometimes i Lie lol
Thanks for this list! I too thought Ordinary Grace was very good fiction writing. I just finished Anne Lamont’s memoir / writing book,
Bird by Bird. I switched out the word painting for writing (although I want to write too) and it was just the kick I needed. It’s from the 90’s but republished in 2019. So much truth it hurts.
I've never read Amy-Jill Levine but I just picked up a book by her: Entering the Passion of Jesus: A Beginner's Guide to Holy Week. I plan to read it during Lent.
My top five books so far are probably Connie Willis's A Lot Like Christmas; Bill Bryson's The Mother Tongue: English and How It Got That Way; Laura Swan's The Forgotten Desert Mothers: Sayings, Lives, and Stories of Early Christian Women; C.S. Lewis's Out of the Silent Planet; and Kim Hains-Eitzen's Sonorous Desert: What Deep Listening Taught Early Christian Monks---and What It Can Teach Us.

Men Who Hate women is an important but very difficult read! I had to take it in bits and chunks to process it all.

I’ll definitely check out a few from your list!
Bird by Bird is such a good read! ♥️

Can you say more about The Day That Went Missing? I think it might help me with my stories but have such a big book stack.
Sorry, it's a crazy season for me so I don't have much time to expand! The dust jacket summary on Goodreads etc may give you a better idea.
Ah thanks. Well I ordered it because it looks like a good read.
Let me know what you think if you get around to reading it! ♥️
I’m likely to get to it pretty quickly.
"worst masterpiece ever"... hahahahaha....!
